The workshop will address the cross-field, interdisciplinary nature of
US Latinx art, explicating why institutions hiring specialists from the
field will acquire a more complete understanding of American and global art
while also demonstrating their ethical commitment to addressing demographic
shifts in the United States. Topics include: terminology (-a/o/x, Hispanic,
Latin, etc.); statistics; best practices.
Leader: Rose Salseda is the associate director of the
US Latinx Art Forum
and acting assistant professor in art and art history at Stanford
Free and open to the public, however, advance registration required.
Depending on availability, tickets may be obtained on-site in the
conference registration area.
