The demands of a new teaching position can be overwhelming in the first few
years. This session is designed to help junior faculty find a balance
between research and teaching while making meaningful progress toward
retention and tenure. Some basic strategies to employ during the
probationary periods will be discussed.
Leader: Michael Aurbach, professor of art, emeritus, is a
past president of CAA who spent many years helping to develop professional
standards for studio faculty.
Free and open to the public, however, advance registration required.
Depending on availability, tickets may be obtained on-site in the
conference registration area.
